2 Day - Beginner
Overview
Wet shaving is a form of art, which has increasingly come back into fashion and is a very important skill to have acquired. Even if you are a professional barber or thinking of becoming one.
This hands-on course will get your cutthroat wet shaving skills to a professional standard in 2 days. The training will be in groups of 4 to 5 students. Our pro tutors will walk you though step by step of the traditional wet shave through live demonstrations. You will then have the chance to practice what you have learnt by perform it on 4 to 6 real shaves and razor touch-ups on live clients supplied by the college or your self. By the end of this course you would have built your skills though repetition and be sufficient in cutthroat shaving at a professional level.
You will earn a VTCT Level 3 Accreditation in Shaving Services, which is important for liability insurance requirements.

Highlights of our 2-day wet shaving course include the following:
- Using a cutthroat razor
- Facial massage techniques
- Applying the right product to prepare the skin before shave
- Using both hot and cold towels
- Practicing on 4 to 6 real live clients, supplied by us
Day 1: You will learn the technique through demos and then will pair up to do real shaves under the support of our pro shaver.
Day 2: You will perform individual shaves. By the end of the course you will be sufficient in cutthroat shaving to provide the service at a professional standard.
2 Days
We accept overseas students visiting on tourist visas and can provide housing options. If you are from a country that is part of the European Union then you likely will be able to travel to the UK without obtaining a separate visa. If you are from outside of the EU then you will need to apply for a tourist travel visa from the UK government, which you can do here: www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa
Whilst the primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment, learners may choose to develop their knowledge and skills further by completing an advanced apprenticeship or Level 2 qualification in barbering, these include:
- VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering
- VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering Studies
- VTCT NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Barbering
